Downtime 2/27/2013

This afternoon around 1:30PM EST the site went down. There was a fatal error and warning, and that was it.

The way that the website works is that it saves temporary files to make loading much faster. Every file on the server has a set of permissions, and a particular file that was crucial to loading had it's permissions wiped out... not quite sure why. I was unable to change these permissions or remove the file, and the web provider saw no easy fix. When I got home from class, I quickly went online and tried some solutions, and ended up being able to remove the file and make it work!

Total downtime was almost 4 hours, which is no good! I am changing to a new provider to cache the site and make it run just as fast as before!

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Kronik, don't make me whip out the negative rep.....  :P

I tried this afternoon and thought something had taken a dump.  Wasn't sure if it was something on my end or the forum in general.  Glad to see a fast response ;)

Thanks for the support guys! I think it should all be taken care of for now. I did a small change that should prevent it from happening again, but the site may load SLIGHTLY slower for now

Wow!  I'm just astonished that the owner of the site keeps it's members updated constantly!

One of the reasons why thequadconnection.com is the shizzle!

Thanks Bro!

Experienced downtime again early this morning. I contacted the hosting provider and we discussed what could be causing this, and found that this website's firewall interferes with the one that is default on the server. We came up with a solution for this now!

It could be, yes, because it was filtering everything through 2, conflicting, firewalls. So now it's properly going through one!

Yessir, fatal error mentioning permissions on Load.php. The site has been running much better now, after a week of smooth running I'll consider it for sure fixed!
