New Chat Settings

Hey guys, I made a few changes to chat today, they're as follows:
  • Users must have 15 posts to access the chat. If you have below 15, the chat box will appear but be blank, and tell you how many more posts you need.
  • In order to view the chat history, you must be at least an elite member. All staff members have access as well.
  • Upped the chat log to 1,500 posts, opposed to the old 1,000
  • The chat now displays 40 messages instead of the old 20, to compensate for not being able to go to history.
Any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks!

Hmmm, I mentioned this to sicivic yesterday and it allready happened. Very nice work corey. Its a shame we have to do this to keep the real lost soles at bay but this is the best way to keep this place friendly. Nobody wants a troll to sit in chat all day long. ;D ;D

Serious question- Any way the chat can be set up so that it can be viewed from any page when browsing the forums? It's kind of a hassle to type a chat, only get to check out two threads then have to go back to the home page to check the chat again.

Yes, this is in the works... it will be an option in your profile. There will be settings for displaying chat on every page, and also display it either at the top or at the bottom of the pages. This week I should be able to get it out.
