My Guide to making Google love the forum

Some of you guys have been talking about methods of bringing in more google traffic so i thought i would offer up a little advice on the matter. Google is a crazy beast a lot of webmasters go crazy trying complex methods of trying ot tame it but sometimes the little things bring the best results.

Your title:
The first and probably most important thing is good titles with key words capitalized. When google screens the site for somebodys google search capitalized words are brought to the top of the list. So if i google "broken blaster tie rod" And you have a similar title typed like this "Broken Blaster Tie Rod" you are a primary hit for that search and more likely to be a top search result. But the same title not capitalized might be 3 pages back in the results because of how google ranking works.  Google spends only a fraction of a second to search this site for a match so by making it easy to find what its looking for it indexes us faster and therefor we are higher in search results.

Key words in descriptions:

A big misconception is making a post thats just packed with keywords and no actual content will help you on google. This is actually only going to work against the site, google has filters to pick up on this and anybody who does find it via google is not going to take the site seriously if the first thing they see here is spam.  Key words are however very important and should be used wisely in every post.

Example: if your making a thread about a broken quad include make, model, year, detail info including technical terms for the part, and repeat these things throughout the thread instead of putting "so i took the yz motor apart" it would be more affective to put "so i took the Yamaha YZ125 Motor apart"

If you make a post about a certain machine but dont use the name of it atleast a couple times in the description or at very least the title its not going ot be searchable. Just keep in mind putting "blaster" is not nearly as effective as "Yamaha Blaster"

backlinks:

A huge factor with google is backlinks, what this tells google is other site are associated with you so your legit, you have relevant information on your site and it will take your keywords more seriously basically.  Its important to have sites with similar content linking back to you and thats where we have one very big advantage. On most forum its ok to put a website in your signature, if everybody does this on every forum they use these will all count as link back and will certainly have a big impact on improving our google ranking.

Ill post some more later im trying to only include the things everybody can help with but obviously there is a lot more to google ranking.

Not nit picking, but then your tile should read  ...... Google love The Quad Connection.

Least wise a couple of years from now it wouldn't matter. For an old fart like me it's kind of exciting to be in on the ground floor of something that could become big.

This was more to help the guys who are making the walkthroughs and what not i dont see this thread being a big traffic grabber but those threads have potential so id like to give them the best possible chance to get seen on google.

Reading made me think of how some of my searches go, sometimes only part may appear in the suggested linc. Would it make any difference if we were to start Googleing TQC? I.E. helping/making Google recognize it more?

I dont think the number of searches are factored into the ranking but im not 100% sure on that, i would think they dont use that info because it would be very easy to manipulate.

And usually only part appears because thats the part that was relevant to your search, thats why capitalizing things like make and model help to bring information up in searches.
